Nancy Wightman helped build the Keuka College synchronized swimming program into a national power, and Wightman’s efforts have earned her a spot in the Keuka College Athletics Hall of Fame.

Under Wightman’s watch, the Storm earned top-7 finishes at the U.S. Collegiate Synchronized Swimming Championships every year from 1999-2002. Keuka was constantly ranked in the top eight programs in the country during Wightman’s successful coaching tenure, which ran from 1996 through 2009.

The Storm’s highest national ranking occurred during the 2005-06 season, when Wightman’s squad held the No. 5 ranking in the country.

Wightman started the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) on Keuka’s campus and holds a B.A. from the University of California, Riverside and a M.A. in education from the Claremont Graduate School.

Additionally, each spring Keuka honors Wightman’s dedication to Keuka athletics with the Nancy Wightman Leadership Award, presented to a Keuka student-athlete who demonstrates outstanding leadership traits.

She also served as assistant athletic director and also the aquatics director during her time on the Keuka campus from 1996-2009.

Wightman, a graduate of the University of California at Riverside (B.A., zoology) and the Claremont Graduate School (M.A., education, student affairs), currently resides in Hammondsport, N.Y. with her husband, Ed.
