Hilary Hughes came to Keuka College with high school teammate Tracy Merkley and the two helped lead the Keuka College Women’s Soccer team to new heights. The duo, along with Lisa Fuchs, were the first All-Americans in college history during the 1986 season. Hughes anchored a defensive back line that carried Keuka College to the NAIA Eastern Regionals. In her career, Hughes ranks eighth for assists in a career with 17. Overall, she helped guide Keuka College to 41 wins and a .664 winning percentage. The 1986 team set a school record with 12 wins. The mark was broken a year later with 13 wins in 1987, a total that still ties for the most in program history. Over her career, Hughes was also named NAIA All-Eastern Team and Keuka College MVP.
