Dr. Arthur F. Kirk, Jr. Athletics Hall of Fame
Long before Keuka College established an intercollegiate sports program for women, Phillips paved the way through her multi-sport participation and leadership. She was involved in field hockey, basketball, softball, crew, and volleyball, as well as the Women’s Athletic Association. She carved a distinguished career in teaching and administration at the college level, helping draft the initial standards for Title IX. She also encouraged legendary Tennessee basketball coach Pat Summitt to go into coaching. She earned a bachelor’s degree in sociology and is a recipient of the Alumni Association’s Professional Achievement Award.
