In the 19 seasons of Keuka College baseball, there has not been a player like Dave Pietraszek. One can look at the record books today and see the impact that Pietraszek had on the program. He started 126 out of 127 games for Keuka, both records. He has the most hits, 162, and most at bats, 448, in school history. That totaled a .362 career batting average, tying him for fourth in the record books. Pietraszek’s offensive numbers do not stop there. He is atop the career records in runs and singles and ranks in the top three of numerous other categories. Pietraszek was not just a great hitter. He was an excellent all-around player. He lined up at first base, third base, and in the outfield. His versatility led to him being named the ECAC Division III Upstate First-Team Utility Player three times in his career. “Dave Pietraszek is also a great role model for our current student athletes,” explained David Sweet, Director of Athletics. “He was a leader on and off the field of play and while he demonstrated great offensive skills, he was not afraid to make the big play in the field as well. I am sure today as an executive team leader at the Target Corporation he is still willing to do whatever it takes to get things accomplished. Dave possesses and demonstrates great traits that we want any of our student athletes to emulate.”
