The 1977-78 Keuka College Women’s Basketball team entered a Saturday night meeting with Syracuse University with an undefeated record. Syracuse was undefeated as well and playing on their home court. The Lakesiders could not get past Syracuse, losing the previous three matchups by a combined eight points. Keuka College had a 35-26 lead at the half, but the lead shrunk in the second. Syracuse had a 64-61 lead with 48 seconds left play. Cindy Skovrinski made a basket and Maureen Mussenden followed that up with two points of her own. Skovrinski grabbed the final rebound from Syracuse’s last attempt as Keuka rallied for the 65-64 victory over Syracuse University at Manley Field House. The '78 Women's Basketball team included Denis Doris, Madeline Ross, Cindy Skovrinski, Maureen Mussenden, Shari Blaine, Val Nichols, Cathy Caezza, Ann Lord, Donna Hunt, Faith Roehr, and Patti Hammond. The team was coached by Harold Gray and assisted by Barb Huebner.
