Michelle Alvord was a four-year standout on the hardwood for Keuka College. During her tenure, she helped orchestrate a turnaround that ended with a berth into the ECAC Tournament. During that run, the Wellsville, N.Y. native was named MVP of the Hartwick College Tournament and named to the ECAC Upstate New York All-Tournament Team, among other honors. She continues to stand as one of the top scorers in Keuka College history. Alvord remains second on the career points list with 1,557 in her career. She also ranks second in career rebounds with 927 for the Green and Gold. Alvord came to Keuka College and made an instant impact. She scored 421 points and collected 297 rebounds during her freshman campaign. Her rebounding total would stand as her career high, however she had over 180 boards each year with the Green and Gold, including 258 during her senior year. During that senior year, Alford set a new career high in scoring. She averaged 16.8 points per game and ended the season with 471 total points for Keuka College. Her personal success translated to success on the court as Keuka College amassed 18 wins in the 1994-95 season, the most in her four-year career. In 1997, Alvord returned to Keuka College to coach the Women's Basketball and softball teams. She posted an 22-25 record in the 1997-98 and 1998-99 seasons on the hardwood that included wins over RIT, Clarkson, and Cazenovia College. Michelle Alvord is currently a counselor at Wellsville High School and the head coach for the Lions' Women's Basketball team.
