In the fall of 1985, Keuka College decided to return to being a co-educational institution for the first time since World War I. The 1985-86 Men’s Basketball team was the first male team in the modern era of Keuka College Athletics. On Friday, November 15, 1985, Head Coach David Sweet led the Warriors against the Community College of the Finger Lakes and defeated the Lakers 89-74. They would go on to post a 16-6 record in their first season. The 16 wins remains tied for third most in program history. They also posted the third highest winning percentage in history and the 1985-86 Men’s Basketball team is the Keuka College all-time leader in field goal percentage. The team also featured two of the three all-time leading scorers at Keuka College in Shawn Reed and Matt Donahoe. The '86 Men's Basketball team included Ron Courtney, Ray Dickson, Matt Donahoe, Patrick Drum, Dave Emrich, John Fesetch, Marty Gibson, Mike Gilbert, Peter Graf, Torre Kohl, Colin Pritchard, Shawn Reed, Phil Yonge, and Donald Young. Renee Davis served as the team's athletic trainer. The team was coached by David Sweet and assisted by Scott Davis.
