KEUKA PARK, N.Y. — Four Keuka College Men's Basketball student-athletes were named to the 2024-25 National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Honors Court list.
Akinlana Popoola,
KJ Freeman,
Tyler Green, and
Will Tehan earned the academic honor from the national organization.
As a team, Keuka College was one of six in the Empire 8 Conference to earn the Team Academic Award from the NABC with a team grade point average of 3.07.
Akinlana Popoola was a team leader in his first season at Keuka College. The junior transfer started all 24 games for the Wolves at point guard. He led the Wolves, averaging 15.7 points per game and adding a team-high 72 assists. Popoola earned Third Team All-Empire 8 honors. A marketing major, Popoola posted a 3.60 grade point average in his first year at the College.
KJ Freeman also joined the program this year, coming as a graduate transfer from Belmont Abbey College. Freeman played in 13 games for the Wolves and posted a career-high in points and assists against Empire 8 foe Hartwick College. Freeman completed Keuka College's MS in Leadership this past year.
Tyler Green posted a perfect 4.00 grade point average last year. The junior has earned Empire 8 President's List honors every semester at Keuka College. Green played in 12 games for the Wolves before having his season cut short due to injury. His season featured a career-high five threes and 27 points in a win at Hartwick College. Green is a management major with a concentration in sports management.
Will Tehan graduated from Keuka College in May with a degree in management following a four-year career for the Green and Gold. He played in 23 games in each of his four seasons for the Wolves, making a career-high 21 starts as a senior. In his final year, Tehan scored a personal-best 213 points and grabbed 101 rebounds. For his career, he finished with 699 career points and 308 career rebounds. He was named the Nancy Wightman Leadership Award winner by the Keuka College Department of Athletics and has also earned Empire 8 President's List and College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honors throughout his career.
The NABC Team Academic Excellence Awards recognize programs that completed the 2024-25 academic year with a team GPA of 3.0 or higher. The NABC Honors Court, meanwhile, includes junior, senior, and graduate student men's basketball players who finished the 2024-25 year with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.
