ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Keuka College Softball team lost two games on Tuesday afternoon to the Rochester Institute of Technology.
Keuka College (8-22, 2-8 E8) lost to RIT 8-2 in game one. The Tigers then defeated the Wolves 5-3 in the second game.
Keuka College 2 at Rochester Institute of Technology 8 – Game One
The Wolves jumped out to a quick lead on Tuesday afternoon.
Hannah Longley (Hannibal, N.Y. / Hannibal) led off the game, reaching first on a throwing error by the Tiger's third baseman. Longley stole second and advanced to third on a single by
Helena Hill (Akron, N.Y. / Akron). Kelsey Mohl (Averill Park, N.Y. / Averill Park) hit a groundball to second base which scored Longley and put the Wolves up 1-0.
The Tigers found their defense in the bottom of the second putting up six runs. The Wolves tried to mount a comeback in the top of the third.
Makenna DeMoney (Conklin, N.Y.Y. / Susquehanna Valley) singled to right field. Mohl followed with a double and
Olivia Flynn (Williamson, N.Y. / Williamson) singled to center field to score DeMoney.
This would be the last time the Wolves would score in game one and the Tigers scored two more in the bottom of the fourth to bring the final score to 8-2 in the Tiger's favor.
Lead Wolf: Senior
Kelsey Mohl was the strongest bat in game one for the Wolves. Mohl doubled in the top of the fourth and had one RBI in the game.
Keuka College 3 at Rochester Institute of Technology 5 – Game Two
The Wolves took the lead first in game two as well.
Helena Hill singled up the middle and made her way across the bases.
Olivia Flynn reached first on a Tigers' error scoring Hill to give the Wolves the lead.
With no scoring from the Tigers, the Wolves went on to score two more runs in the top of the third.
Helena Hill,
Makenna DeMoney, and
Kelsey Mohl all walked to load the bases.
Olivia Flynn hit a hard single up to the pitcher to score Hill and a throwing error from the pitcher allowed DeMoney to score the Wolves' third run of the game.
The Tigers struck back in the third and fourth inning scoring five runs in total and taking the lead. The Wolves were unable to score anymore, and RIT would take game two 5-3.
Lead Wolf: Senior
Helena Hill led the Wolves' offense going two-for-three at the plate with a walk. Hill scored two of the Wolves' three runs in game two.

- The Keuka College Softball team is 8-21 all-time against the RIT Tigers.
- Olivia Flynn improves to a six-game hitting streak after earning hits in both games of the doubleheader.
- Helena Hill recorded three hits in the games today bringing her to 28 hits this season, a new personal best.
- Helena Hill is now in seventh place in the record books with 18 career stolen bases.
- As a team, the Wolves now have 47 doubles this season which moves them into sixth overall in program history.
Up Next for Keuka College: The Keuka College Softball team continues on the road with another non-conference doubleheader at Hilbert College tomorrow starting at 3:00 pm. The Wolves will resume Empire 8 play this week with a road trip to Medaille University on Saturday for a doubleheader starting at 1:00 pm followed by Senior Day at home on Sunday against Elmira College at 1:00 pm.
