CLERMONT, Fla. — The Keuka College Softball team dropped a pair of games during their spring trip in Florida on Thursday.

The Dutchwomen took the lead with a run in the top of the first, but Keuka answered with one of their own. Hannah Longley led off with a walk, stole second, and then moved to third on a wild pitch. She scored on a sacrifice fly by Kelsey Mohl to tie the game.

Union regained the lead, scoring five in the top of the third, and then added two more in the fourth. The Wolves continued to battle, plating four runs in the bottom of the fourth. Olivia Flynn had an RBI double to start the rally. Kaitlyn Holland added a sacrifice fly, and Makenna DeMoney scored two with an RBI single to make it 8-5.

A two-run home run in the sixth provided insurance for Union as they held the Wolves to one hit over the final three innings to defeat Keuka College 10-5.

Lead Wolf: Freshman Makenna DeMoney had her first multi-hit game, going 2-2 with a walk for the Wolves. DeMoney drove in a pair of runs for the Green and Gold.

Lawrence University 5 vs. Keuka College 1
Lawrence used three walks to open the bottom of the first and take a 1-0 lead over the Wolves. Grace Eagen provided Keuka's first hit in the top of the third. The Wolves would load the bases, but the Vikings would get a force out at home to keep Keuka off the board.

Four more runs crossed the plate for Lawrence in the fourth inning to make their lead 5-0. The Wolves got on the board in the sixth. With two outs, the Wolves had three straight singles, the third coming from Grace Eagen to score Emily Cutrona.

The Wolves threatened in the top of the seventh. Hannah Longley, Helena Hill, and Makenna DeMoney all singled to load the bases with no outs. However, Lawrence would get the next three Keuka batters to strike out to secure the 5-1 victory.

Lead Wolf: Grace Eagen was one of three freshmen to have a two-hit game for the Wolves. Eagen also recorded the only RBI. Hannah Longley and Emily Cutrona also had multi-hit games for Keuka College.
