Keuka College had a strong open to the game. Midway through the first, the Wolves had a pair of shots saved, followed by a corner. The ensuing play led to two more shots on goal for the Green and Gold, but they were unable to break through. Play flipped to the other end of the field with Nichols there to collect saves for the Wolves. It would be scoreless after the first 15 minutes.

The second quarter played in favor of the Red Dragons. They outshot Keuka 7-0 and had a 3-0 advantage in corners in the frame. It would not be until the final minute when they deflected in a shot that SUNY Oneonta would score. The goal with 28 seconds remaining gave the Red Dragons a 1-0 lead at halftime.

The momentum stayed with Oneonta in the third quarter. The shots were again tilted in their favor 11-2. The Wolves had a great chance to tie the game in the third. A long ball was kicked away by the Red Dragon goalie. The ball was intercepted by Makaela Mills. She raced in on goal and fed Erin Patterson at the back post. Unfortunately for the Wolves, the ball got caught up in her feet and was turned over to the Red Dragons. The final seconds proved costly to the Wolves again. SUNY Oneonta was awarded a penalty stroke with 10 seconds remaining in the third. They converted to lead 2-0.

The Wolves pressed to get on the board and back into the game. SUNY Oneonta made three saves in the final quarter to keep the Wolves off the board. The Red Dragons added a goal in the final minutes to secure the 3-0 victory.
