ALBANY, N.Y. — The Keuka College Field Hockey team lost on a rainy Saturday to Russell Sage College 4-0 in an Empire 8 Conference game.
Keuka College (3-8, 2-3 Empire 8) got 19 saves in goal from
Jordan Nichols.
The Gators took the lead with a goal midway through the first quarter. They then added a goal in the final minutes of the first. They then controlled the play, outshooting the Wolves 16-0, in the second quarter. Sage added a goal for a 3-0 lead at the break.
Keuka fought back, earning a corner and outshooting the Gators 5-3 in the third, but was unable to break through. Russell Sage added an insurance goal late in the game to defeat the Wolves 4-0 on Saturday.
The 19 saves by
Jordan Nichols tied for the ninth-most in a game in program history. She also moved to fifth on the single-season saves list with 116 this season.
The Wolves next face Wells College in a non-conference game at Wells on Wednesday afternoon.
