PITTSFORD, N.Y. — The Keuka College Field Hockey team lost on the road in an Empire 8 game at St. John Fisher University 8-1 on Wednesday afternoon.
Erin Patterson scored the lone goal for Keuka College (1-6, 1-1 Empire 8).
Jordan Nichols made four saves over three quarters in goal for the Wolves.
St. John Fisher University 8 vs. Keuka College 1
The host Cardinals jumped out to a fast lead against Keuka College, scoring on their first shot 1:48 into the game. St. John Fisher would continue to press, but not gain a second goal. Midway through the quarter, the Wolves flipped the field and had some offensive pressure. The Green and Gold would tie the game up as
Erin Patterson found the back of the goal for her third goal of the season. The game would remain tied 1-1 after the first.
St. John Fisher pressured for most of the second quarter. The Wolves had a chance four minutes before halftime as
Laine Rogers beat the goalie, but a Cardinal defender was there to clear it off the line. Fisher would flip the field back to Keuka's end and scored with 1:18 left in the half to lead 2-1 at the break.
The Cardinals would take control of the game in the second half. St. John Fisher outshot Keuka College 9-1 in the third quarter and 4-2 in the fourth. They would score three goals in each of the periods to defeat the Wolves 8-1 on Wednesday.

- Keuka College added three defensive saves in the game. Alicia Rush had two and Tori Nelson added one
- Rush now has four defensive saves in her freshman year. She leads the Empire 8 and already is tied for sixth in program history for defensive saves in a season and tied for fifth on the career list
Up Next for Keuka College: Keuka College will continue its opening stretch of Empire 8 play this Saturday as the Field Hockey team kicks off Green and Gold Celebration Weekend at Keuka College. The Wolves will host Houghton University at 11 a.m. at the Jephson Community Athletic Complex to start the tripleheader. Keuka College Women's Soccer against Nazareth College will follow and the Men's Soccer team against Hartwick College will close the busy day on campus.
