KEUKA PARK, N.Y. — The Keuka College Field Hockey team lost at home on Saturday afternoon to Houghton University 3-2 in overtime in an Empire 8 game.
Anna Dewey posted a three-point game with a goal and assist for Keuka College (1-7, 1-2 Empire 8).
Erin Patterson had the other goal for the Wolves and
Jordan Nichols made a career-best 19 saves in goal.

Houghton pressed the Wolves early but the Keuka College defense held.
Jordan Nichols had three saves in the opening quarter and
Alicia Rush added a defensive save for the Wolves. The Highlanders would get the first goal of the game 12 minutes into the quarter, but Keuka College responded with offensive pressure of their own. The Green and Gold had multiple opportunities in the final three minutes but the Highlander defense stood tall to keep the 1-0 lead after one.
Houghton would take a 2-0 lead midway through the second quarter as a ball deflected off of a Keuka College defender and in. The Wolves would get one back 1:02 before halftime. Off of a corner, Keuka's only of the quarter,
Makaela Mills and
Anna Dewey passed back and forth and ended with Dewey ripping a shot from the left wing for the goal.
Keuka College drew the game level six minutes into the third quarter. Upfield passing by Mills and Dewey found the stick of
Erin Patterson who scored for the Wolves to tie the game at 2-2.
Houghton pressed the Wolves in the final quarter. The Highlanders had a 7-0 advantage on corners and put six shots on goal, but Nichols was there for the Wolves to hold Houghton off the board and send the game to overtime.
A penalty stroke was awarded to Houghton University midway through the first overtime period.
Jordan Nichols made the save to extend the game, but a minute later, Houghton would score to win the game 3-2.

- The Wolves remain in search of their first win against the Highlanders. Keuka College is 0-6 against Houghton
- Makaela Mills had a two-assist game for the Wolves. The senior has eight on the year to tie the Keuka College single-season record
- It was both the first career goal and assist for Anna Dewey
- Both Nichols' 19 saves and Keuka's 21 as a team rank in the top ten in a game in program history
Up Next for Keuka College: After three straight Empire 8 games, the Wolves will take a break from conference play for a road test on Wednesday. Keuka College will travel to SUNY Oneonta on Sept. 28 to face the Red Dragons in a non-conference game.
