Dodge Scores Game-Winner to Beat Elmira College

HORSEHEADS, N.Y. — The Keuka College Field Hockey team (3-10, 2-4) defeated the Elmira College Soaring Eagles (0-11, 0-6) in an Empire 8 Conference Game on Wednesday afternoon 2-1.
Erin Patterson (Rochester, N.Y./ Gates-Chili) and Alexis Dodge (Verona, N.Y./ Vernon-Verona-Sherrill) each had a goal in Wednesday's game. Tori Nelson (Vernon Center, N.Y./ Vernon-Verona-Sherrill) earned the assist on both goals.
Keuka College 2 at Elmira College 1:
The Wolves got out to a quick offensive start on Wednesday afternoon. Neither team could produce a goal in the first quarter, but the Wolves outshot the Soaring Eagles five shots to three.
Erin Patterson scored the first goal of the game in the 19th minute putting the Wolves in the lead. Elmira College had a quick comeback scoring just three minutes later to even the score.
The score remained even for the entirety of the third quarter. The Soaring Eagles outshot the Wolves by one, but the Wolves played smart defense keeping to nine fouls while Elmira College had 18.
Following a penalty corner in the fourth, Alexis Dodge found the back of the net putting the Wolves up 2-1. Jordan Nichols (Afton, N.Y./ Afton) recorded seven saves in the game and held off the Soaring Eagles' offense to lead the Wolves to a win.

  • Keuka College is 3-4 all-time against Elmira College.
  • Patterson moves into a tie for 4th with seven goals on the season.
  • The Wolves tied for second overall with 19 penalty corners which is also their most this season.
  • Kirstin Billings (Hilton, N.Y./ Hilton) led the Wolves with three shots on goal.
