Box Score 2 KEUKA PARK, N.Y. – The Keuka College Softball team defeated the SUNY Poly Wildcats in a pair of North Eastern Athletic Conference games on Saturday.
The Green and Gold won the opening game 3-2 and shutout the Wildcats in the second 3-0.
Keuka College (6-6, 4-0 NEAC) will remain at home on Sunday as they host SUNY Cobleskill in an NEAC doubleheader.
Game 1
SUNY Poly jumped to the early lead on Keuka. They got an unearned run in the first and third innings off of starting pitcher Liz Warren. The Wildcats led 2-0 going into the bottom of the fifth inning.
With two outs in the fifth, Tally McDonald extended the inning with a single. Mackenzie Cole followed that up with a bunt single to put two runners on for Keuka with two outs. Samantha Blum came to the plate and hit a 0-2 pitch into left field. Blum showed off her speed as it became a three-run inside the park homerun, giving Keuka a 3-2 lead.
Liz Warren made the lead stand as she pitched the complete game to earn her fourth victory of the season as Keuka defeated SUNY Poly 3-2.
Game 2
The Green and Gold got on the board early in Game 2. Blum singled for Keuka and promptly stole second. She moved to third on a single by Allyson Muller and scored on a wild pitch for the early 1-0 advantage.
Keuka got back on the board in the third as Muller singled home Tally McDonald. Jessica Parmiter added an RBI single in the sixth to give Keuka a 3-0 lead.
That lead was more than enough for starting pitcher Brianna Bush. The junior allowed just four hits and struck out three in earning the complete game victory.
