Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

GAME ONE BOXSCORE GAME TWO BOXSCORE
The Keuka College softball team split Sunday's North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) doubleheader with SUNY Cobleskill, losing the first game 4-1 before winning the nightcap 4-2.

Freshman Liz Warren (Elmira Heights, NY/Thomas A. Edison) won her third straight start of her career, limiting Cobleskill to two runs (one earned) on seven hits with nine strikeouts in the complete game.

Sophomore Kelly Proper (Silver Springs, NY/Letchworth) delivered the big hit during a three-run third inning. After Cobleskill took a 1-0 lead in the top half of the inning, freshman Nicole Wright (Seneca Castle, NY/Midlakes) drew a leadoff walk and advanced to second on an illegal pitch. Following a walk to junior Katie Evangelista (Geneva, NY/Geneva), Wright scored the tying run when junior Brooke Lovell (Arkport, NY/Arkport) singled through the right side.

Lovell stole second, and following a strikeout, the Storm took a 3-1 lead when Proper singled into right field, plating Lovell and Evangelista.

Warren retired the Tigers in order in the fourth, and struck out the first two batters of the fifth before allowing a single. Warren induced a groundout to end the threat.

Cobleskill pulled within one in the sixth on an RBI double, but with the tying run on second, Warren got a groundout to Lovell to end the inning.

The Green and Gold got that run back in the bottom of the inning. Sophomore Haley Jordan (Auburn, NY/Auburn) led off with a walk, advanced to second on a wild pitch and scored on freshman Ally Muller's (Bath, NY/Haverling) double to the gap in center field.

Cobleskill threatened in the seventh, putting runners on first and third with two outs, but Kelsey DeZalia flew out to junior Deliane Lessard (Rochester, NY/Genesee Community College) to end the game.

In the first game, Brianne Gray held the Storm hitless for the first four innings until Proper singled with one out in the fifth. Cobleskill scored an unearned run in the first and tacked on two more runs in the third, and Gray blanked Keuka through the first six innings.

Trailing 3-0 heading into the bottom of the seventh, junior Jill Hart (Cowlesville, NY/Iroquois) delivered a one-out single and Proper followed with a double to left-center field. Hart scored on a passed ball to get the Green and Gold on the scoreboard, but Gray used a strikeout and a pop out to end the game.

The Storm travel to SUNY Geneseo for a non-league clash Tuesday at 3 p.m. before returning home Wednesday to play St. John Fisher College at 3 p.m.
