LA PLUME, Pa. — The Keuka College Women's Basketball team lost the opening game of the Keystone Tip-Off Tournament to the host Giants 71-59 on Friday night.
Keuka College (1-2) was led by
Sydney Brown with 15 points. First-year
Lillian Mullen filled the stat sheet with seven points, eight rebounds, and seven assists in the loss.

The Wolves jumped out to an early lead and used the deep ball to remain ahead for most of the first quarter. A three by
Sydney Brown gave the Wolves a 5-0 lead three minutes into the game. The Giants rallied to tie it, but
Lillian Mullen hit a three as Keuka regained the lead midway through the quarter. That sparked a 7-0 run for the Wolves, but the Giants responded with nine unanswered to take the lead. Keuka closed the quarter ahead as a three by Brown in the final minute gave the Wolves a 15-14 lead after one.
Two baskets by the Wolves extended their lead to start the second quarter. Keystone responded and eventually took the lead against the Wolves. Keuka fought back and a jumper by
Janea Hamilton-Brown tied the game, but a late basket by the Giants gave the hosts a two-point advantage at the halftime break.
Keystone College scored the first eight points of the second half and held the Wolves off the board for the first five minutes of play.
Mary Cotter made a jumper to get the Wolves on the board. However, Keystone's hot shooting was too much for the Wolves. The Giants shot 60% from the floor while the Wolves shot 25%. Keystone doubled up Keuka 22-11 in the frame and took a 52-39 lead into the final quarter.
Keuka College was able to cut into the deficit late, dropping it to eight in the final minute, but the Giants saw the game out for the 71-59 victory.

- Friday was the first meeting between Keuka College and Keystone College since the 2008 North Eastern Athletic Conference Tournament when the Giants defeated the Wolves in overtime in the semi-final round
- Keuka College is 6-5 all-time against Keystone College
- It was the most rebounds and assists in Lillian Mullen's young three-game career
Up Next for Keuka College: The Wolves will conclude the Keystone Tip-Off Tournament on Saturday when they face either Spalding University or Centenary University at noon. Keuka College faced Centenary in the 1996-97 and have never squared off with Spalding.
