MORRISVILLE, N.Y. — The Keuka College Field Hockey team earned their first win of the season on Wednesday, winning on the road at SUNY Morrisville 7-0.
Five different players scored for Keuka College (1-2), led by
Erin Patterson.
Tori Nelson,
Brianna Broadwell,
Alexis Dodge,
Makaela Mills, and
Ashley Pospiech all added a goal in the win.
Keuka College 7 at SUNY Morrisville 0
Each team had chances early in the game with shots and corner opportunities. The best chance for Morrisville came five minutes into the game where they were awarded a penalty stroke.
Jordan Nichols (Deposit, N.Y. / Afton) came up big in goal for the Wolves with a save to keep it scoreless. Towards the end of the quarter,
Tori Nelson got a chance from the middle of the scoring area and converted to make it 1-0 Keuka.
Makaela Mills got involved as her shot from the top of the circle found the back of the goal with 40 seconds left in the frame as the Wolves led 2-0 after one.
The Wolves added to their lead in the second.

Makaela Mills to make it 3-0. 32 seconds later,
Tori Nelson set
Erin Patterson up for a goal to extend the Keuka lead. The Wolves would lead 4-0 at the break.
Two more goals were scored for the Wolves in the third.
Makaela Mills slid a pass across the front of the net to find Patterson at the far post for her second goal of the game.
Tori Nelson then got her second assist of the game, finding
Alexis Dodge for the goal.
Keuka College closed the scoring in the fourth quarter. Nelson got her third assist of the game as her shot was tipped in by
Ashley Pospiech for her first career goal as the Wolves defeated SUNY Morrisville 7-0.
KC Notes:
- Keuka College is now 4-3 all-time against SUNY Morrisville, winning the last four meetings. It was the second straight shutout of the Mustangs and the most goals Keuka has scored in the series
- Seven goals tied for the seventh-most in a game for the Wolves in program history
- Tori Nelson set a new career high with three assists. She was one point short of her career-high of six points in a game, a feat accomplished against SUNY Morrisville last season
- Along with the goal by Ashley Pospiech, Brianna Broadwell also scored her first career goal
- Jordan Nichols and Sam Hall split the game in goal, each recording three saves in their half to combine for the shutout
- It was the third penalty stroke stop of Jordan Nichol's career
Up Next for Keuka College: The Green and Gold remain on the road this weekend as they travel to face Lycoming College. It will be the second all-time meeting between the two schools. The Warriors defeated the Wolves in a shootout last season.
