KEUKA PARK, N.Y. — The Keuka College Field Hockey team had a big afternoon at the Jephson Community Athletic Complex, defeating Elmira College 9-0 in an Empire 8 Conference game.
Seven different Wolves scored for Keuka College (3-5, 2-2 Empire 8).
Kirstin Billings led the way for the Wolves with five total points, scoring two goals and adding an assist.
Makaela Mills scored a pair of goals and
Tori Nelson added four points with a goal and two assists.
Keuka College 9 vs. Elmira College 0
It was a slow start for both teams, but the Wolves started to increase the pressure midway through the first. The pressure resulted in a penalty stroke for the Wolves.
Tori Nelson converted for the 1-0 lead. 42 seconds later,

The majority of the second was played in the Soaring Eagles' end. More Keuka pressure resulted in another stroke for the Wolves. Billings converted this attempt to push the lead to 3-0. Billings then scored again minutes later, hitting in a rebound off a
Tori Nelson shot, to give Keuka a 4-0 halftime lead.
Alexis Dodge opened the second half scoring for the Wolves nine minutes into the third. The scoring in the third was capped by a nifty flip goal by
Makaela Mills to give the Wolves a 6-0 advantage going into the final quarter.
Keuka College was awarded a penalty stroke early in the fourth as
Ashley Pospiech raced in on goal in a breakaway, but the Elmira keeper tripped her up. Elmira would make the save, however. Mills later scored her second of the game. In the closing minute,
Laine Rogers got her first of the season with
Jill McGinley getting the assist. The scoring was then capped by the first career goal from
Emma Mantione as the Wolves defeated the Soaring Eagles 9-0.

- Keuka College level's the all-time series with Elmira at 4-4. Keuka College has won every meeting since joining the Empire 8 Conference
- The nine goals were the most scored in a game against Elmira College and the third most in a game overall in program history
- With her four points, Makaela Mills breaks a tie and moves into sole possession of second place on the career points list
- Jordan Nichols made three saves in goal to earn the shutout. She is now tied for the career lead in shutouts at Keuka College
- Keuka College had 22 corners in the game, second-most in program history
Up Next for Keuka College: The Wolves will step out of conference play next for a pair of tough tests from the SUNYAC. Keuka College will host Oswego State on Tuesday afternoon and then welcome SUNY Oneonta to the Jephson Community Athletic Complex on Wednesday.
