KEUKA PARK, N.Y. – The Keuka College Women's Volleyball team finished up their home volleyball tournament with two wins on Saturday bringing them to a 4-0 record to start the season.
The Wolves defeated MCLA 3-0 in game one. The Green & Gold then went on to defeat SUNY Canton in three sets.
Keuka College 3 vs Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts 0 (25-17, 26-24, 25-23)
The Wolves picked up right where they left off yesterday. The Green & Gold got out to an early lead, but the Trailblazers kept the score close. A kill from
Ava Hubbard (Avon, NY/Avon) and three service aces from
Caitlynne Marczyk (Livonia, NY/ Livonia) gave the Wolves a bigger lead and would help push them to a 25-17 win in set one.
The second set proved to be more challenging for the Wolves as the Trailblazers took the early lead and did not let up. With the Trailblazers leading 24-20,
Ava Hubbard provided a kill to keep the game alive. An error from the Trailblazers and four consecutive kills from
Dayna Edholm (Buffalo, NY/ Sweet Home) gave the Wolves the 26-24 comeback win to take the second set.
The third set was another close battle between the Wolves and Trailblazers, but 13 kills from the Wolves kept them in the game. With the Wolves trailing 23-22,
Dayna Edholm came up big for the Wolves again with three consecutive kills giving the Green & Gold a 25-23 win in set three and a 3-0 match victory.
Lead Wolf: Dayna Edholm was dominant on offense in the Wolves' first match of the day. The Senior had 14 kills with 13 digs. Edholm scored the last four points in set two and the last three in set three to push the Wolves over the top in their victory.
Keuka College 3 vs SUNY Canton 0 (25-20, 25-11, 25-16)
The Wolves finished their opening weekend strong against the Kangaroos. The match play started even in set one. Again,
Dayna Edholm led the way on the Wolves' offense with eight kills, and
Emma Sipos (Canandaigua, NY/ Canandaigua Academy) added a couple of serving aces to pull the Wolves ahead leading them to a 25-20 win.
The next two sets were the best of the day for the Wolves.
Emma Sipos ended the day with seven serving aces in the match against Canton while Edholm matched her best form the previous day with 16 kills. As a team, the Wolves put together 33 kills in their second match compared to the Kangaroo's 18 and held a team total of 12 serving aces which led to their second 3-0 match win of the day.
Lead Wolf: Emma Sipos led the Wolves with seven aces and 12 digs in game two.

- Keuka College is off to a great start in their season, currently standing at a 4-0 record.
- The Wolves have only lost one set in their first thirteen played in the 2023 season.
- Casey Hunziker (Rome, NY/Rome Free Academy) posted 58 assists on the day with 30 in game one and 28 in game two.
Up Next for Keuka College: The Keuka College Women's Volleyball team heads to the University of Rochester Invitational on September 8th and 9
th. The Wolves will play the University of Rochester and RIT on the eighth and Buffalo State on the ninth.
