Women’s Basketball Loses at Nazareth College

PITTSFORD, N.Y. — The Keuka College Women's Basketball team lost 99-41 at Nazareth College in an Empire 8 game on Tuesday night.

Keuka College (3-18, 0-14 Empire 8) was led by a trio of scorers in double figures. Killian Mahoney led the way with 12 points. Sydney Brown scored 11 and Mary Cotter added 10 for the Wolves.

The Golden Flyers made a pair of early threes before Lauren Hill laid the ball in to make it 6-2. Nazareth answered right back with a three, but Mary Cotter hit one of her own to keep the game close. The Golden Flyers pushed their lead out to 13 points, but Keuka closed with baskets by Cotter and Mahoney to make it 18-9 after one.

Nazareth opened the second quarter with 15 straight points until Sydney Brown hit a three-pointer four minutes in the frame. The Golden Flyers outscored Keuka 40-8 in the second quarter and led 58-17 at the half.

The game is in Nazareth's control in the second half. The hosts took the third quarter 26-10. Keuka had its best frame in the fourth, shooting 50% from the floor and 2-3 from deep. The Green and Gold had a game-high 14 points in the fourth, but the Wolves fell on Tuesday 99-41 to Nazareth.
