ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Keuka College Women's Volleyball defeated Nazareth University in four sets on Friday night in an Empire 8 match.
Keuka College (18-4, 6-1 Empire 8) posted their best hitting percentage of the season, hitting .267 against the Golden Flyers.
Dayna Edholm led the Wolves attack with 17 kills.
Megan McCann and
Camey Knapp each added 12 kills in the win.
Keuka College 3 at Nazareth University 1 – 25-17, 22-25, 25-23, 25-19
The Wolves wasted no time getting into the game on Friday night. Keuka College jumped out to an 8-1 lead in the first set against Nazareth. The Wolves played from the front the entire set. A kill by Edholm ended the first 25-17 in favor of the Wolves.
The Wolves and Golden Flyers played a very close second set. Nazareth began to push a lead, but every time, the Wolves answered back to keep it within striking distance. The Green and Gold pushed off three set points by Nazareth to narrow the set to 24-22, but the hosts converted to win the second 25-22 to level the match.
The Wolves played from the front in the third set as they continued to pressure the hosts. Keuka built a 15-10 lead over Nazareth, but the Golden Flyers rallied and would eventually tie the set at 18-18. A kill by
London Ross gave the Wolves the lead, and Edholm and Knapp followed to create separation.
Megan McCann later ended the set with a kill as the Wolves took a 2-1 lead in the match.
Nazareth led early in the fourth set, but Keuka College came back to tie it at 7-7. An ace by
Kendra Waltz gave the Wolves the lead. Nazareth tied it again at 10-10, but that would be the last time the set was tied. Edholm hit a kill for the Green and Gold and Keuka did not look back. The Wolves led the rest of the way with
Dayna Edholm hitting the final two kills as Keuka College took the fourth 25-19 to win the match.

- Casey Hunziker posted 46 assists for the Wolves. The senior moved to fourth on the career assists list. She has 783 this season, eighth-most in program history
- Kendra Waltz had five aces for the Green and Gold, tying her career-high
- Emma Sipos tied her season-high with 25 digs
- As a team, Keuka College had seven blocks in the win. The Wolves were led by Sydney Haust with four blocks, setting a new career-best
Up Next for Keuka College: The win sets up the biggest game of the year for the Women's Volleyball team. Keuka College will play at conference-leading St. John Fisher on Saturday. The winner of Saturday's match will earn the top seed in the Empire 8 Conference Tournament. Saturday will be a tri-match for the Wolves. Following the match with the Cardinals, Keuka College will close the regular season with a non-conference match against Misericordia.
