Keuka College Volleyball Drops Match to Nazareth

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Keuka College Volleyball team (2-9, 0-1) lost their match 0-3 to the Nazareth College Golden Flyers (4-8, 1-0) on Friday night in Rochester, New York.
Dayna Edholm (Buffalo, N.Y./ Sweet Home) led with five kills. Cameron Knapp (Horseheads, N.Y./Horseheads) recorded three blocks and Emma Sipos (Canandaigua, N.Y./ Canandaigua Academy) had seven digs.

Keuka got out to an early lead in the first set with a strong kill from Bryn Straub for the first point. The Wolves were able to hold the advantage until the Golden Flyers fought back to tie the set 15-15. Cameron Knapp supplied a kill to regain momentum which the Golden Flyers quickly answered with a kill of their own. From there, the Wolves strung together four straight points. Caitlynne Marczyk provided back-to-back aces during this run to put the Wolves up 20-16. From that point on the Golden Flyers controlled possession scoring nine points in a row to win the set 25-20.
 
The Wolves started their second set by keeping the score close. After the Wolves tied the set 3-3, the Wolves were not able to gain an advantage in the set again. Keuka College attempted to make a comeback scoring three points in a row with the help of an ace from Casey Hunziker. The Golden Flyers answered with three kills of their own to keep their lead. The Wolves trailed 14-20 after Megan McCann scored their final point of the set with a kill. The Golden Flyers went on to score five more points in a row bringing the score to 25-14.
 
The Wolves came out strong in the third set scoring the first four points. However, just like in previous sets, the Golden Flyers bounced right back tying up the set 4-4. At that point the game favored Nazareth, but the Wolves kept fighting their way back to a one-point deficit. Megan McCann supplied the kill again to bring the score to 16-17. Dayna Edholm earned the final point of the night for the Wolves to make the score 17-21. Again, the Golden Flyers went on to score the final four points of the game. Nazareth would go on to win 25-17 in the final set and take the match 3-0 from the Wolves.
